Meet Our Team

Hello! My name is Jasmine Mays-Robinson, and I am the founder and primary instructor of Bel Air Arts Academy. I started teaching in-home lessons as my first job after receiving my undergraduate degree in music from the University of Maryland. Since then, I have taught music in classrooms, in-studio, in groups, at summer camps, and the list goes on and on! I can’t wait to work with you!

Jasmine is one of the academy’s two conservatory teachers. She teaches Sing & Shine, Vocal Techniques. Kiddy Keys, Kindermusik, intermediate/advanced voice and intermediate/advanced piano at Bel Air Arts Academy

Elizabeth DeVito is an enthusiastic voice teacher who believes that anyone can learn to sing.

She graduated from the Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College with a B. M. in Voice Performance, where she studied as a soprano with Professor Matthew Osifchin.

Liz has also enjoyed performing solo recitals, performing works ranging from baroque arias to world premieres. She believes that all singers can benefit from a strong classical foundation, whether they want to sing classical, musical theater, pop, or jazz.

Liz is one of the academy’s two conservatory teachers. She teaches intermediate/advanced voice and intermediate piano at Bel Air Arts Academy.

Matt began taking fiddle lessons at a young age and has since studied classical violin and music theory with multiple teachers.

He has performed in solo recitals, masterclasses, orchestras, small groups, rock bands, and in the recording studio.

Matt enjoys creating and replicating sounds on more than just the violin; he can also be heard playing piano, mandolin, and guitar.

As a teacher, he believes music is a great vehicle for students to develop self expression, self discipline, and community.

Matt teaches guitar, violin, viola, mandolin, ukulele and piano at Bel Air Arts Academy.

John Suskey plays piano, organ and folk instruments such as guitar, recorder, banjo, accordion, harmonica and others.

He has a Master’s in Music Education from West Virginia University and taught elementary music in Harford County Schools during 1990-97.

He also has taught lessons and specializes in pop music with boogie woogie, jazz, gospel and blues roots.

John has played in many pop bands around Harford County and currently plays in several bands.

John teaches guitar, beginner/intermediate piano, accordion, banjo, bagpipes, mandolin, harmonica, ukulele and other folk instruments at Bel Air Arts Academy. 

Hello, my name is Anthony Hooker. I have always had a deep love and appreciation for music ever since I was a child.

My family says that from an early age I was always singing and tapping my foot to something.

My musical journey began in the form of piano and voice lessons at the end of elementary school and through middle school.

At 14 I expressed a desire to play the bass which I did for a time until around age 17 when I changed my focus to the electric guitar, from which there was no turning back, ha-ha.

I attended Harford community college for two semesters completing theory 1 and 2 as well as participating in jazz ensemble during that time.

I find it particularly exciting teaching new players and also helping struggling beginner or intermediate players understand the music theory relevant for what they want to play.

It is my hope that I can guide you and inspire you to be the best player you can be.

Anthony teaches Kidzrock, Jr. Rockers, guitar, electric bass, beginner drums and beginner piano at Bel Air Arts Academy.

Patty-Lynn has played the flute since she was nine years old and has been teaching private flute lessons for over ten years.

Some of her musical accomplishments include playing in the Maryland All-State Band, as well as marching in the Thanksgiving Day Parade with the Great American Marching Band.

She was also the featured soloist in the Harford Youth Orchestra (2013) where she performed Franz Doppler’s Hungarian Pastoral Fantasy. 

One of Patty-Lynn’s favorite things about teaching is developing friendships with her students. She loves to inspire her students to continually grow as musicians and to be self-motivated.

Patty-Lynn teaches flute and beginner piano at Bel Air Arts Academy.

A graduate of Towson University, Jenn is an MSDE -certified Theatre Educator and is currently the Drama Teacher at Fallston Middle School, and she runs the Drama Company at both Fallston and Southampton Middle Schools. Over the past twenty years, Jenn has taught Theatre, English, Speech Communications, and even (briefly!) Mathematics in four different schools and three different school systems in Maryland. She has also served as a Literacy Specialist and facilitated Professional Development through several districts, MSDE, and nationally through her work with WestEd. In addition to staying active in the theatre community at many levels and in many roles, she served as the Artistic Director for Act With Me, running children's Musical Theatre classes and camps. Jenn is also currently an Improv Instructor for Theatreworks Live! and working this summer as a Teaching Artist/Director with the Children's Theatre Production Company (CTPC) of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore.

Jen teaches acting classes at Bel Air Arts Academy.

Ms. Ally joined our team in July 2023 as an Administrative Assistant and has since been promoted to Operations Manager.

She studied for her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography and Digital Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Her favorite part of the job is watching student’s confidence and joy grow as their musical journey progresses and they become part of our community.

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley, and I’m excited to be joining the team at Bel Air Arts Academy. I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and am passionate about helping and connecting with others. In my free time, I love being an auntie and spending quality time with the people I love. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming part of such a wonderful community!
